Abstract

Noam Chomsky is one of the most influential linguists of modern times. His linguistic philosophy has had a major influence on linguistics, psychology, philosophy and many other disciplines. Chomsky’s conceptualization of language as a genetic endowment of man has shifted the focus of scientific study from behaviour and its products to mental processes and biological endowment that underlie all human actions.
